9 Best Frase Alternatives in 2026 for SEO and Content Teams
The nine Frase alternatives worth looking at are Amadora AI, Surfer SEO, Searchable, Clearscope, Rankscale, LLM Pulse, Otterly.AI, LLMrefs and Frase itself. Frase is the cheapest tool here that finishes the job: $49 a month buys articles researched, drafted, optimised and published live to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix, by an agent that ships on its own once you let it. What that price does not buy is a view of AI search. The $49 tier watches two engines, Perplexity arrives at $129 and Claude and Gemini only at $299, so a team on Starter reads AI search through two of the five and checks the rest by hand.

Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page, read on 8 September 2026, and are monthly list in the currency the vendor publishes. Amadora AI is our product.
Why teams leave Frase
Teams leave Frase over the shape of the bill rather than the shape of the product. Everything scales by tier at once, so a team that outgrows one number pays for all the others. Starter at $49 is one site, one seat, ten articles, 50 audit pages and 50 AI visibility prompts; adding a second site means Professional at $129, which also triples the articles and the prompts whether or not you wanted them. Extra seats are $29 a month each on top. Overages are published rather than negotiated — $5 an article and $0.25 an AI prompt on Professional — and off by default, which is fairer than most of this category.
The engine ladder is the version of this that costs most. Frase tracks five AI engines and hands them out by tier: ChatGPT and Google AI at $49, Perplexity at $129, Claude and Gemini only at $299. A brand that wants to know whether Claude recommends it is buying a $299 plan and 100 articles a month to find out. The tools further down this page sell that coverage flat — Rankscale 17+ engines on a €20 tier, LLM Pulse five on every plan — for less than the upgrade costs.
How we compared
We read every vendor’s own pricing page on 8 September 2026 for prices, seats, engine coverage and plan limits, and each vendor’s documentation for what it does with the work it produces. Frase’s cards print the monthly and yearly figure side by side, which is rarer here than it should be. No third-party roundup was used as a price source: of the five ranking pages we read, four quote no Frase price and the fifth quotes $15 a month, a plan Frase has not sold in years.
Amadora AI is our product and ranks first here. Its entry follows the same shape as every other, limitations included, and every tool name links to its own site so you can check the figures. A wider set sits in our roundup of LLM monitoring tools.
The nine alternatives, ranked
Ranked for the buyer currently evaluating Frase: an SEO or content team that wants articles researched, written and live on the site, and wants to know whether AI engines cite them afterwards.
01
Amadora AI — Best for SEO and content teams that want the same three engines on every plan and the work applied to the live site, not queued for someone.
Our productRung 7 of 7From $59/mo3 engines on every tierGoogle SEO included
Amadora AI runs a brand’s prompts daily against the live ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini interfaces rather than APIs, and names the competitor owning the sources each answer trusted. Those three come with every plan, at $59 as at $499. It then produces the work that closes the gap — audits, briefs, drafts, landing pages — ships it into the CMS, repairs the links and markup around it, and reports what moved beside Google rankings.
Amadora AI leads on finding why a client is not cited, then shipping the fix.
Key features
The same three engines on every tier, with five more sold individually from $9/mo rather than bundled into an upgrade.
Publishes to WordPress and Webflow directly, others via plugin, API and MCP.
Agents repair internal links and apply on-page changes and schema, approval-gated.
Search Console connects, so rankings sit beside AI answers in one report.
Pricing
Three tiers on Amadora AI’s pricing page. Starter $59/mo: 15 prompts, one brand, one seat, 300 credits. Professional $179/mo: 100 prompts, unlimited brands and seats, 1,000 credits. Agency $499/mo adds workspaces, white-label and API on 3,000 credits. Credits roll over up to 2×.
Limitations
No document editor and no hosted CMS, so writing and hosting stay where they are.
Add-on engines are still a charge: $9/mo each at 15 prompts, rising with the prompt count.
No SOC 2 and no on-premise deployment, which ends some enterprise procurement outright.
Best for SEO and content teams measured on published work and on what the rankings did afterwards, especially anyone who found Frase’s engine ladder priced above what they needed. Not the right call if the writing surface is what you are shopping for.
02
Frase — Best for solo operators and single-site teams that want the article researched, written and pushed live without a second subscription.
Rung 5 of 7From $49/mo2 engines at entryGoogle SEO yes
Frase is the cheapest tool here that finishes the job. Every plan, Starter included, publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix, or hosts on FraseCMS free up to 100,000 page views a month. Its autonomy setting runs per content type in three states, and in the first the agent publishes without waiting for anyone.
Frase promises SEO and AI search end to end - audit, research, writing, publishing, hosting.
Key features
Publishes to four CMSs or hosts on FraseCMS, on every tier including the $49 one.
Per-content-type autonomy: on, earning, or in review, with review the default.
Content Guard watches 10, 75 or 300 pages for ranking decay and writes the fix.
SEO, GEO and AI visibility scores in one place, plus a site auditor.
Pricing
Starter $49/mo, Professional $129 and Scale $299, each 20% cheaper billed yearly at $39, $103 and $239; Enterprise is quote-only, and both bases print on every card. Seats run 1, 3 and 5 with extras at $29/mo, domains 1, 5 and 10, articles 10, 40 and 100. Overages are off by default: Professional adds $5 an article and $0.25 an AI prompt.
Limitations
Two engines at $49 and three at $129; Claude and Gemini arrive only on the $299 tier.
One site and one seat at entry, so a second brand is a tier upgrade, not a line item.
Content Guard drafts its fixes and stops; internal linking is a suggestion on every plan.
Best for a solo operator or single-site team that wants the article researched, written and pushed live without a second subscription. Not for a team tracking a real engine set on a small plan.
03
Surfer SEO — Best for writers and editors who want a draft scored against the live SERP as they type and Google positions tracked properly.
Rung 4 of 7From $59/mo0 AI prompts at entryGoogle SEO yes
Surfer has the best writing surface in this comparison. It scores a draft against the live SERP as you type, rewrites sections to close the gap, and tracks Google positions properly rather than reading Search Console for clicks. The AI half arrived later as a separate module and the pricing shows the seam: Discovery at $59 carries no AI prompt allowance.
Surfer leads on being the answer in Google, and everywhere buyers search.
Key features
Content Editor scores and rewrites against the live SERP, the deepest editor here.
1-click Content Optimization and 1-click Internal Linking act on the document in seconds.
Real Google rank tracking, with Rank Drop Detection and a cannibalisation report.
AI Search Analytics tracks five engines from Standard.
Pricing
Discovery $59/mo, Standard $119, Pro $219, Peace of Mind $359 and Enterprise $999 flat, each 17% cheaper billed yearly at $49, $99, $182 and $299. The yearly toggle is on by default, so the first figures a visitor sees are discounted. AI Search Analytics is sold standalone at $95/mo.
Limitations
No AI prompt allowance on Discovery: AI tracking begins at Standard, $119/mo.
One seat and one workspace at entry, against five brand spaces on Pro.
Optimisation acts on a document inside Surfer; nothing reaches the live site.
Best for writers and editors who want the strongest scoring surface and real rank tracking, and will accept AI visibility as a paid module. Not for anyone whose first requirement is engine coverage at the entry price — our Surfer SEO alternatives page covers where it stops.
04
Searchable — Best for content teams whose bottleneck is production volume and who already have someone to put the finished article live.
Rung 4 of 7From $125/mo20 articles a monthGoogle SEO partial
Searchable buys more finished writing per dollar than anything else here: 20 AI-optimised articles a month at $125, rising to 80 at $400. Nine engines are chosen during onboarding rather than unlocked by tier, the direct inverse of Frase’s ladder. Seats are unlimited on every plan; projects are not, and that changed recently enough to catch out most pages quoting it.
Searchable pairs AI search analytics with the actions that follow.
Key features
20, 80 or 200 AI-optimised articles a month, the best volume-per-dollar ratio here.
Nine engines selected at onboarding, the same set on Pro as on Enterprise.
100, 500 or 1,250 tracked prompts per model, refreshed daily.
Unlimited seats and countries on every tier; a 200-page site auditor from $125.
Pricing
Pro $125/mo, Scale $400 and Enterprise $999+, plus Custom on quote. Monthly is the default toggle and annual advertises 20% off without printing a figure. A 14-day trial runs without a card. Its own page contradicts itself on engines — nine in the comparison table, three in the Pro blurb.
Limitations
Pro covers one project, not the unlimited count it carried until recently; ten on Scale.
No CMS publishing: its integrations list runs to MCP, Search Console and Analytics, and the publishing column reads no for all three.
Search Console gives clicks and impressions, never a ranking position.
Best for a content team whose bottleneck is production volume and who has someone to put the article live. Not for a Frase user replacing publishing as well as writing — the Searchable alternatives page covers the tools that go further.
05
Clearscope — Best for editorial teams with many writers that need one shared standard for what a finished page looks like.
Rung 4 of 7From $129/moUnlimited seats and projectsGoogle SEO yes
Clearscope is the quality bar rather than the production line. It grades a draft against the terms and structure of what already ranks, consistently enough that editorial teams use the score as the definition of finished. Unlimited users and projects on every tier make it the cheapest way here to give twenty writers one shared standard. Its engine coverage is the narrowest in this comparison.
Clearscope puts ChatGPT beside Google in the headline; its pages disagree on engines.
Key features
Content reports graded on a scale writers calibrate to, the most trusted scoring here.
Unlimited users and unlimited projects on every paid tier, with no per-seat charge.
50 or 300 tracked prompts and pages, and 20 or 50 monthly topic explorations.
20 drafts a month on both paid tiers.
Pricing
Essentials $129/mo and Business $399/mo, both flat per account with no contracts, plus a custom Enterprise tier adding SSO and crawler whitelisting. A 14-day free trial runs first. Additional pages cost $25 on Essentials and $15 on Business.
Limitations
Two engines, ChatGPT and Gemini, at $129 and at $399 alike — the narrowest coverage here.
Nothing publishes and nothing is applied; the deliverable is a graded document.
20 drafts a month does not move between the paid tiers, so volume buyers pay extra.
Best for editorial teams with many writers that need one shared, trusted definition of a finished page. Not for a team whose question is which AI engines cite them; two will not answer it.
06
Rankscale — Best for a Frase user who wants the engines Frase gates, bought separately for less than the upgrade would cost.
Rung 3 of 7From EUR 20/mo17+ engines on every tierGoogle SEO no
Rankscale is the cheapest answer on this page to the thing Frase charges most for. Its €20 Essentials tier carries the same 17+ engines as its €780 one — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, Grok and Copilot among them — in every region, checked as often as hourly. Credits rather than features are the meter, at roughly a quarter of a credit per engine query.
Rankscale tracks brands, products and ads across 17+ engines.
Key features
17+ engines, all regions and hourly-to-monthly scheduling on every tier.
Citations analysis, sources-box analysis and query fan-out tracking across all plans.
Scout recommendations summarise the data into what to do next.
Credits roll over up to 2× on Pro and 3× above it.
Pricing
Four tiers: Essentials €20/mo, Pro €99, Growth €385 and Enterprise €780, each 15% cheaper billed yearly. Credits run 120, 1,200, 5,500 and 12,000 a month and brand dashboards 2, 10, 50 and 100. Monthly is the default toggle, which is unusual here. Pro carries a 7-day trial; the others do not.
Limitations
Nothing is briefed, drafted or published, so it complements Frase rather than replacing it.
Essentials has no team workspaces, no CSV or Sheets export, no Looker Studio and no API.
No Google organic view of any kind, so rankings still come from somewhere else.
Best for a Frase user who wants the engines Frase gates, bought as a second and cheaper subscription. Not for anyone consolidating tools — the Rankscale alternatives page covers where its ceiling sits.
07
LLM Pulse — Best for teams that want five engines priced flatly on every tier and will publish the writing themselves.
Rung 4 of 7From EUR 49/mo5 engines on every tierGoogle SEO partial
LLM Pulse prices prompts flatly instead of metering them, and puts the same five engines on every tier: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Gemini. Anything beyond those five — Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek — is a paid add-on from €10 a month, on every tier including Enterprise. Its writer runs from entry, three tasks a month.
LLM Pulse's homepage names four engines; Google AI covers two of its five.
Key features
Five engines on every tier, including both Google surfaces, with no gating by plan.
Unlimited team members at no cost, and 10 to 20 competitors per project.
Euro list prices, charged in your own currency through Stripe at the live rate.
Sentiment, owned-media tracking and AI traffic analytics from Growth.
Pricing
Starter €49/mo, Growth €99 and Scale €299 on the weekly-tracking book, with Enterprise on quote; annual works out at €40.83, €82.50 and €249.17 a month. Separate daily-tracking plans cost about 60% more. Add-ons are flat: €100 per 100 prompts, €50 per project, from €10 per model. A 14-day trial runs first.
Limitations
GEO Writer exports drafts as files, so nothing reaches a CMS.
One project and 50 prompts at entry, with a second project charged at €50/mo.
No rank tracker, and daily tracking is a separate plan rather than a setting.
Best for a team wanting five engines on a flat monthly price, with a few drafts it will publish itself. Not for anyone expecting the draft to be published for them.
08
Otterly.AI — Best for solo marketers who want four engines watched daily and the whole team logged in for the least money here.
Rung 3 of 7From EUR 29/mo4 engines at entryGoogle SEO not stated
Otterly.AI is the cheapest honest entry into AI visibility tracking here, and covers four engines at that price where most rivals cover two: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Team members are unlimited on every tier, including the €29 one. What arrives is a GEO audit and a short list of recommendations.
Otterly names six engines on its homepage; four are included at the entry tier.
Key features
Four engines at €29, daily tracking, and unlimited team members on every tier.
1,000 GEO audits a month at entry, with multi-country support across 50+ regions.
ChatGPT Ads Tracking on every tier, which few tools at this price publish.
API, MCP and Agent Analytics from Standard at €189.
Pricing
Lite €29/mo for 15 prompts, Standard €189 for 100, Premium €489 for 400, and Enterprise from €1,000. Annual takes 15% off and monthly is the default tab. Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode are per-tier add-ons rather than plan features — €9 each on Lite, €59 on Standard, €149 on Premium.
Limitations
15 prompts on Lite is below a working set, so the real entry is €189.
Nothing is briefed, drafted or published; the deliverable is an audit.
No rank tracker appears anywhere on the pricing page, so the Google half is not stated.
Best for a solo marketer who wants four engines watched daily and the whole team logged in for the least money here. Not for a Frase user, who already has the production half and is shopping for coverage rather than another audit.
09
LLMrefs — Best for anyone running several sites who wants one predictable bill covering every domain and nothing beyond tracking.
Rung 2 of 7From $79/moUnlimited projects and seatsGoogle SEO no
LLMrefs sells one plan and does one thing. $79 a month covers 500 prompts across every engine it supports with no per-engine fee, plus unlimited projects and team members on one subscription — the flattest bill here for anyone running several domains. It tracks keywords rather than prompts, a deliberate bet.
LLMrefs runs one flat plan, with a free lookup on the homepage.
Key features
One plan, unlimited projects and domains, unlimited team members.
500 tracked prompts for brand mentions, sources and fan-out queries.
All AI search engines included with no additional per-engine fees.
Geo-targeting across 50+ countries, with CSV export and API access.
Pricing
A single All in One tier at $79/mo, captioned “limited time only” on the vendor’s own page since late August, so treat it as promotional rather than settled. A 7-day free trial runs with cancellation any time.
Limitations
Reports refresh weekly, against daily on most of this page.
No recommendations of any kind, so it stops a rung below everything else here.
No white-label, no Google view, and a price the vendor flags as temporary.
Best for anyone running several sites who wants one predictable bill covering every domain. Not for a team that needs the tool to say what to do about what it found.
Best by job
Publishing on one site for the least money
Frase. $49 a month researches, writes, optimises and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix, or hosts free on FraseCMS. Nothing else here reaches a live site at that price.
Seeing every engine without changing plans
Rankscale. 17+ engines on every tier from €20, in every region, checked as often as hourly. It produces nothing, so it sits beside a content tool rather than replacing one.
Being measured on what moved after publishing
Amadora AI. Three engines on every plan, unlimited brands and seats from $179, links and markup repaired rather than flagged, and AI answers reported beside Google rankings.
When Frase is still the right choice
You want somewhere to write. Frase is a document editor with scoring and brand voice built in, and we have none of that — we produce drafts and hand them over.
You want the hosting solved too. FraseCMS is free with every plan up to 100,000 page views a month, and $19 buys your own subdirectory. We host nothing at any price.
You need SOC 2 Type II on the vendor. Frase carries it and we do not, which ends some procurement conversations before the feature comparison starts.
The execution ladder
The execution ladder is seven steps from measuring an AI visibility problem to proving it was fixed: measure, diagnose, plan, produce, publish, fix, prove. Engine counts and prompt limits miss the thing it captures, which is how much work lands back on your team. Every platform here climbs the same seven steps and each stops somewhere.

Rung placements reflect what each vendor documents publicly, read on 8 September 2026. Frase reaches 5 on the strongest evidence in this peer set: its autonomy page documents three per-content-type states, and in the first it publishes without approval. The same page draws the line that keeps it off rung 6 — "autonomy is about publishing approved work, not silently rewriting what is already live" — and Content Guard returns its fixes as drafts. The other four producers all stop at rung 4: Surfer acts on a document inside Surfer, Searchable's own integrations table has a publishing column reading no for all three, Clearscope ships drafts, and LLM Pulse's GEO Writer exports its drafts as files.
Frase reaches higher for its price than any subject this cluster has covered. Only two of the nine get a finished page onto a live site, and Frase is one of them at $49 — cheaper than the three tools ranked above it on production volume, none of which publishes at all. Where it stops is the rung after: the site around the article. Its auditor finds the internal linking gaps and Content Guard the decaying pages, and both hand the work back.
Migrating off Frase
Most of what you would move has already left. Articles published to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix live in your CMS and are unaffected by cancelling, which makes Frase one of the easier exits on this page. The exception is content hosted on FraseCMS: that sits on Frase’s infrastructure and has to be exported and rehosted, so check where each post went before the renewal date. Prompt lists, briefs and topic clusters paste across. Visibility history does not transfer in either direction, because each vendor samples engines and scores mentions differently.
Expect first data within twenty-four hours of adding a domain and a usable trend line at about two weeks. If the reason for leaving is engine coverage rather than the writing, run the arithmetic first: a second subscription carrying the missing engines can cost less than the Frase tier that unlocks them, and you keep the editor. Frase’s yearly billing is 20% cheaper than monthly, so a mid-term switch has real sunk cost.
Common questions
−
How much does Frase cost?
Frase publishes three self-serve tiers monthly: Starter $49, Professional $129 and Scale $299, each 20% cheaper billed yearly at $39, $103 and $239 (vendor pricing page, September 2026). Enterprise is quote-only. Yearly is the default toggle, though every card prints both figures, so the monthly number is never hidden.
+
Which AI engines does Frase track?
Five, and which of them you get depends on what you pay. Starter at $49 tracks ChatGPT and Google AI, Professional at $129 adds Perplexity, and Claude and Gemini arrive only on Scale at $299. Tracked prompts rise with the tier too — 50, 200 and 500 a month.
+
Does Frase publish content automatically?
Yes, on every tier including Starter. Frase's autonomy setting runs per content type: switched on, the agent publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or FraseCMS without approval. Content Guard is separate and more conservative — it drafts a fix for a decaying page and returns it for approval.
+
What is the best Frase alternative for AI search visibility?
Rankscale, on coverage per euro: 17+ engines on every tier from €20/month, including Claude, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek. It produces nothing, so it is a companion rather than a replacement. Amadora AI is the closer substitute — three engines on every plan, five more at $9/month each, and the content still gets made.
+
Does Frase have a free trial?
Seven days, no credit card. The trial runs Professional's feature set, including agent publishing, capped at five articles, 50 audit pages, 25 AI prompts and three seats. It is one of the few trials here that lets you watch a tool actually ship a page before you pay.
+
Can I move my content off Frase?
The articles are already yours if you published to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix — they live in your CMS, not Frase. Content hosted on FraseCMS has to be exported and rehosted, so check where yours sits before cancelling. Prompt lists and briefs paste across; visibility history does not.
